In the End

images (3).jpg

Hitler’s downfall with his Third Reich was anticipated by many, a group was desperate enough to take things in their own hands. A bomb assassination attempt was made but Hitler escaped with minor injuries. Those involved in that attempt were executed. By 1945 the war was a lost cause but Hitler demanded his troops to fight to the death. In April. 1945 leaders trying to negotiate to get out of Berlin, he told them to stay and what they were thinking was wrong by that time Russians had already stormed in. On April  29 he married his long life mistress and on the 30th they committed suicide in a bunker and ordered that their bodies be burned.

When it came down to the end Hitler needed a sure way to end things before he could be captured by his enemies. He asked SS physician Dr. Werner Haase about the most reliable method of suicide. Haase suggested the "pistol-and-poison method" of combining a dose of cyanide with a gunshot to the head.  When the time came and there was little left for Hitler to do, he would take his own life. He had shot himself with his own pistol to end his life.

Question
 1. What was the name of the physician that advised Hitler with a way out?

 2. What year did Hitler marry his long life mistress?

 3. If you were Hitler and all you had accomplished was coming to an end, and you're defeat and capture was inevitable, what would you do?

Hitler Started Somewhere

Hitler Started Somewhere

Hitlers known for being one of history’s most ruthless and unforgiving tyrants to be in power. He had done some of the most terrible things history has seen and attempted to create genocide on those who followed the Jewish faith. He believed he needed to rule his country as a man of iron and rid it of all Jewish-Christian influence in Germany. However before he had to the power to accomplish all this there was a point in time where Hitler was no more than a soldier and a simple political figure. He would work his way through the ranks and gain the support of all those in his country in a time where people were looking for someone to listen to.

Towards the end of World War I, Adolf Hitler a 25-year-old Austrian, had enlisted in a Bavarian regiment of the German army, despite him not actually being a German citizen. After Germany’s fighting had stopped on the Western Front in 1918, Hitler would return to Munich due to an Armistice. With his return he had little things of importance to take part in until he was recruited by the Army’s Political Department(Press and News Bureau). Hitler then took a course in “national thinking“ taught by Captain Karl Mayr. His capabilities in this class seemed to exceed those of others taking the course, this was brought to the attention of an army officer who would promote him to an “education officer”. With this new promotion he would use it to get his chance to speak publicly and gain the attention of many people.

In July 1919 Hitler was appointed an intelligence agent of an reconnaissance team in the Reichswehr. This gave him the ability to influence other soldiers with his aspiring ideas and to secretly make his way into the German Workers’ Party(DAP). Hitler was assigned to study the activities of the DAP, and during his observations he became impressed by the ideas that their group held. During a meeting held on September 12, 1919 Hitler was given his chance to speak publicly, against an audience member who was an economist named Gottfried Feder, he was proposing ideas that said Bavaria should secede from Germany and unite with Austria to form a South German Nation. Hitler than publicly shamed the unfortunate audience member using his astonishing speaking skills, causing Feder to leave the meeting. Hitler was then invited to the DAP becoming its 55th member. From there on Hitler would use his membership to influence people and gain the support he needs to rise further up in power.
